Serenity
(pantoum)

-- by John T. Baker - Copyright 1999 --

I do not mind that I'm alone
Throughout the day and every night;
I feel no fear of Fate unknown,
In solitude I take delight.

Throughout the day and every night
I've countless pleasures to recall;
In solitude I take delight,
My wants are few, my needs are small.

I've countless pleasures to recall
As I commune with long-gone friends;
My wants are few, my needs are small,
I'm unconcerned with fads or trends.

As I commune with long-gone friends,
I'm well content to view the Past;
I'm unconcerned with fads or trends,
Serenity I've found at last.

I'm well content to view the Past,
I feel no fear of Fate unknown;
Serenity I've found at last -
I do not mind that I'm alone.
