Special Occasion
-- by John T. Baker - Copyright 2000 -- JTB8817@aol.com

"She never wore this dress," he said,
"Despite all my persuasion;
She always said she'd save it for
Some special big occasion.

"She bought it years ago," he sighed,
"And loved it but because it
Was special and so prized she left
It hanging in the closet.

"Today is special, so I guess
She'd now give me permission."
He gathered up the dress to take
On down to the mortician.

A lesson to be learned by all:
Each day has Heaven in it;
Each day is special, don't delay,
Enjoy each precious minute.
