A Steady Love
-- by Shelby Forrest - Copyright 2000 -- sforrest@earthlink.net

My memory is fading fast
Reaction time grows slow
But never fades my love for you
It eer continues to grow.

The passing days turn into years
Father Time is taking his toll
My love for you, still fresh and clear
Embeds now deep in my soul

To be near you is comforting
When we just sit and talk
And being by you is enough
When side by side we walk

Important are the little things
That to me mean so much
The pleasant smile when greeting me,
A pat and gentle touch.

We've had our share of happiness,
Of heartbreak, joy and pain.
With no complaints, I would re-live
My life with you again
