Stop Running Away
-- by Bonnie J. Duckworth Copyright 1998 -- bonniej@gte.net

While mowing the lawn, I chanced to see,
a little green frog hop in front of me.
I stopped to help him out of my way,
but he lept from me, much to my dismay.

If I don’t catch him, where might he go,
under my blades? I do no know.
After several grabs, he was in my hands,
but alas, he slipped out again and lands.

God wants to help us, just as I did the frog,
but we slip away from him as though in a fog.
If you hear that "still small voice" in your head,
stop running away and listen, instead.
