Teenager Advice
-- by John Hill - Copyright 1999 -- jhill@itexas.net

At times we want to give out kids advice,
But we hear,"Before you do, you'd better think twice."
I guess one of the hardest things to learn
Is which bridge to cross and what bridge to burn.

We keep saying, "If you play with matches you'll get burnt."
But I have to say that only dead fish swim with the current.
Guess I'll be the one to blame,
But if your not the lead dog in the pack, the scenery will always be the same.

To get your point across, sometimes you have to lobby,
But your feelings can be hurt in trying to please everybody.
You may want to tell your daughter, "Don't marry for money."
You can borrow it cheaper.. honey.

Guess the best advice is to keep quite,
And maybe things will turn out alright.
Lotza times things happen that we can't explain
Could it be, we're doing something right in playing life's game.
