I'm thankful for so many things that I've
received in life;
I'm thankful for my children, 'though
scattered far and wide;
I'm thankful for my grandaughter...what
every grandchild should be;
I'm thankful for the jobs that I was
fortunate to hold,
I'm thankful for the winter snows and even
the bitter cold,
I'm thankful for the rains of spring and the
warmng rays of the sun;
I'm thankful for the summer sun......the
humidity and the heat;
I'm thankful for the autumn colors....the
brown, the red and gold;
I'm thankful for the cardinal, the goldfinch
and the dove;
I'm thankful for the northern lights and the
eerie call of the loon;
I'm thankful for the sunsets that tint the
evening sky;
I'm thankful for the stars that shine on all
those moonless nights;
I'm thankful for the sunrise at the dawn of
every day;
I'm thankful for the leisure time and trips I
was able to take,
I'm thankful for my retirement time and
days that seem so full;
I'm thankful for the days of peace, even
when times were tense;
As years go by and time grows short; I
have one final word;
