This Day
-- by Vance Oliphant- Copyright 2000 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

Arise each morning and vow to endeavor,
To make this day the very best day ever.

Make a concious effort to awake with a smile,
And it will become a habit after awhile.

Take a walk and enjoy the day;
Stop and smell the flowers along the way.

Enjoy the roses along a neighbor's wall,
And the stately sunflowers that grow so tall.

Petunias and pansies, with their colorful array,
Are just two of many that brighten the day.

The hummingbird shares with the honey bee;
Flower to flower....so delightful to see.

The cardinal, the chickadee, the wren and the dove,
Provide entertainment in the trees above.

The grass is so green..the sky so blue;
Notice the sparkle of he morning dew.

A cheerful "Good Morning" to folks you meet.
Will make your day, and theirs, much more complete.

For the world, each morning is a start anew,
But this day was made especially for you.
