Time On Earth
-- by Vance Oliphant - Copyright 2000 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

I have some thoughts I would like to convey;
That come to my mind nearly every day.

Mostly questions about my life,
And how well I've handled the daily strife.

Have I justified my time on earth?
In some small way, have I proven my worth?

Have I completed the tasks I was sent here to do?
Is there more to accomplish before I'm through?

Have I been the husband my wife deserved?
Have my familys needs been adequately served?

Have I always upheld the family name?
If not pride, have I, at least not brought shame?

Was I fair to those who spent time with me?
As open an honest as they thought I should be?

Have I always acted in an unbiased way?
With compassion for those I met each day?

The answers must wait until I'm gone;
Only the Lord can judge how well I've done.
