Tired and Weary
-- by William G. Lyon -- Copyright 1997 -- lyon0013@inquo.net

Yes, I'm "Tired and Weary", for a long Journey I have made,
As I climbed Yonder Hill and then Hobbled up the Steep Grade.
You might say I was "Tired and Weary", a rest was in order,
I doubt if I could wait any longer, for that would be harder.

I finished that last long mile way ahead of all the other Guys,
Even though it's late, I realize just how fast the time flies.
Is it any wonder I'm "Tired and Weary" of the task well done,
Even though I knew it would be real hard to please everyone.

When my task is over, even though the Job isn't yet completed,
I'll continue on, hoping to finish it, I won't ever be defeated.
Although the Grade was steep, the road was Rough and Rocky,
I know, although I'm Weary, I can make it if I"m not too Cocky.

So on I go, although "Tired and Weary", I shall try to make it,
There is no way in this life, my job, that I will ever "Forsake It".
Although ambition is lacking, when I turn and look around,
I shall just dig in, and try to keep my feet on real firm ground.
