Tomorrow
-- by John T. Baker - Copyright 1999 -- JTB8817@aol.com

When Jack was just a youngster
Growing up from day to day
His father somehow never seemed
To have the time to play.

"I'm sorry, son," he'd tell the lad;
"Too busy!" was his claim;
"Perhaps tomorrow, Jackie!" . . . but
Tomorrow never came.

Then Jack grew up and Dad grew old
And now had time to play,
But Jack was heavily involved
And always had to say,

"I'm sorry, Dad, right now I am
Too busy for a game!
Perhaps, we'll see, tomorrow!" . . . but
Tomorrow never came.

A lesson for both dads and sons,
Too seldom learned by some --
Don't wait until tomorrow, for
Tomorrow may not come.
