Lovely Memories
-- by Melba Wallace - Copyright 1998 -- meljoy@brightok.net

Do you remember our trips
When you, Vernon and I
Would go to visit your home place
Driving underneath the bright blue sky?

We had biscuits, bacon and jelly
To tide us over the trip,
And into your Mill Creek bag
Unmentionables you would slip.

We might stop at a gas station
To buy us something to drink,
Then on down the road we'd go;
The scenery was magnificent I think.

We made all the stops;
Ravia, Mill Creek, Ten Acre Rock.
We'd see wildflowers and trees
And pastures filled with livestock.

I hope we get to go again
To those places you glorify.
I'll never forget those precious days,
Just you, Vernon and I.
