Ode To Our Unborn Grandchild
-- by Walter Cheney Copyright 1995 -- writers@seniors-site.com

To you our love that's yet to be,
And all of us have yet to see.
They took a scan the other day,
To see if you are still OK!

They reported your very well,
Got all your parts as best could tell.
They wanted more to see,
A boy or girl you were to be.

Checking plumbing is so they'll know,
If pink or blue will have to show.
Hope you're warm and cozy be,
It be the nicest you may ever see.

Grandpa can give you a confidential clue,
Mom does love you cause you're you.
But Mom's not crazy about the kicks,
Or all your other cutesy tricks.

And crouding Mom is not the thing,
Don't push to hard and no more battering.
The months go fast so enjoy your stay,
And you get bigger everyday.

I just can't wait and I'll happy be,
If you just look a little like me.
No hair on top is my style,
If you have none give grandpa a smile.
