My Favorite Valentine
-- by Bonnie J. Duckworth - Copyright 1999 -- earthquack@email.msn.com

From your friend, Bonnie J. Duckworth... I hope you can realize in your own heart the meaning of this poem.

My valentine had a heart that was nailed on tree.
Pierced by thorns made the color red, as it should be.
Decorated and laced by many stripes that it bore,
created full of love, 'twas a verse written o'er.

It read, "How I long to hold you closer to my heart,
neither life nor death could ever tear us apart.
Once you are mine and I am yours, with nothing between,
our love will soar beyond the scope of all you've seen."

Nothing can describe the feelings when you look inside,
and see the picture painted by a man that died.
I'd like to share my favorite valentine with you,
just by chance, it might become your favorite too.

If you would like to post one of your own poems please send us an e-mail.
