Visions of Keri
-- by Dean FH Macy -- Copyright 1989 -- deanmacy@monad.net

(Memories in her last summer of life)

On a cliff I sit. I spy
A vision shaping the sand
Into castles. One small hand
Waves love to me. She calls, "Hi!"

A small child, a girl, long hair
Swirling in the summer breeze,
Gathers seashells that will please
Her Dad: Jewels for him to share.

My joyful vision of blue
Against blue, Carefully picks
Starfish from the driftwood sticks:
"I love, Dad, to share with you."

The chair rocking, she and I
Study the first evening star,
That glorious light afar
Off in the heavenly sky.

On a cliff I sit. I spy
A vision shaping the sand
Into castles. One small hand
Waves love to me. She sobs, "Bye!"
