Who Are You?
-- by Bill Cooper - Copyright 1996 -- BDC126@aol.com

With your presence the whole room is enhanced,
Providing comfort as though reclined upon a cloud.
You are provoking and leave no room for chance,
You stabilize and prevent others from becoming loud.

When I touch you I find you so delightful,
I long to lay upon you and dream sweet dreams.
Your magic erases memories that are frightful,
But I know things are not always as they seem.

I can see that you have been mistreated,
There are scars where you have been abused.
Indention's point where others have been seated,
No matter who's been on you, I want accuse.

Your time with me will soon pass away,
Your style has made you an easy target.
You have served your purpose and cannot stay,
I'll replace you with a firmer, softer, CARPET.
