The Widow Lady

Picture of widow

I met this widow lady the other day,
This lovely gal had lots to say.
I paid attention cause she was cute,
Dressed up so fancy in a fluffy suit.

She said she lived in my neighborhood,
Had seen me outside splitting wood.
She said I reminded her of Tellie Savalis
Bald, sexy, and no signs that I used digitalis.

I told her I was a writer and a poet too,
She was much impressed as some gals might do.
She invited me over to spend some time,
Talk some more and hear some rhyme.

She wanted to know what I likes in eats,
Cause she said she had some very special treats.
Now I like sweets and especially treats,
So I paid close attention to her entreats.

I was going to see her until I began to realize,
My wife would not appreciate this enterprise.
And I remember my wife's own special treat,
If I even think about wondering down the street.

I'm unsure of the words but I'm think she said,
That she'd serve me up some red-hot lead.
Now I don't dare share my rhyme,
Even though it would take only a little time.

And there's so many of these poor widows too,
That are all alone with nothing to do.
And they got treats they'd like to share,
Especially with men who have no hair.

So if you have in mind to write some rhyme,
There's widows' to see if you've got the time.
