It's hard to face life, no longer a wife,
the loneliness crushes you down.
You feel so sad, cause the friends you had,
greet you now with a frown.
Friends know you've got, a big empty spot,
but they don't know what to do.
They'd like to share, the pain that you bear,
but how - they haven't a clue.
The easiest way, is merely to stay,
in the background, quiet and sad.
But here is the rub - it seems like a snub,
and then we are all feeling bad.
A wall has been built, mostly from guilt,
friends seldom drop in or call.
So what can you do, but start out anew,
no use being bitter as gall.
It's best to pitch in, and stick out your chin,
you know you can still carry on.
Come on now, awake! there's new friends to make!
with work the blues will be gone.
No doubt - it's been rough, and quite often tough,
to face each day on your own.
So don't brood and hide, you'll shrivel inside,
reach out and pick up the phone.
Your friends are still there, no doubt they still care,
someone must make the first move.
Don't leave it to fate, don't sit back and wait,
come on now, get in the groove.
Look for the sun, and try to have fun,
flowers and birds still abound.
Time flies so quick, there's blossoms to pick,
come on now, just look around.
