I wonder what the world will say
When the year two thousand comes to stay.
Will they welcome it with arms spread wide
Or find a place that's safe to hide?
Ones in the know predict dire things
That are bound to happen when midnight rings.
I wonder if the whole world's gone mad
With false delusions that some have had.
It is said the computers won't compute
Radios and TVs will all be mute
Stocks will fall and banks will fail
Trains will stop and ships won't sail.
But some people speak with saner word:
Radios and TVs will still be heard
On banks and stocks we'll still depend
The trains and ships will move again.
Will you stay behind, your face to hide
Or greet the millennium with arms spread wide?
Where will you go, what will you do
When the year 2000 comes to you?
